Water Rate Adjustment Effective September 14, 2023

The State of Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC) has the authority to adjust rates of public water utilities to ensure the financial health of these vital public services. The PSC has approved an 8% adjustment for the City of Burlington’s water rates (quarterly service charge, public fire protection, and consumption charges). The new rates are effective beginning September 14. Bills for the first billing period under the new rate will be mailed to customers in early January 2024. The City of Burlington’s water rate has not had an increase since March 13, 2019. A comparison of new rates to current rates is below.
