Neighborhood Watch Communities
The City of Burlington Police Department actively supports neighborhood watch. As you drive around town, you will notice that there are several large signs proclaiming certain areas as neighborhood watch community. Their slogan is "we watch out for each other."

Get Involved
Beyond simply watching out for each other, those that belong to a neighborhood watch group are offered opportunities for training about crime prevention. Many set up email contact lists that allow the Police Department to send out crime bulletins and other items of interest. When group members notice something out of the ordinary in their neighborhood, they can contact each other immediately. They can also contact the police to request extra patrols in the area. Neighborhood watch is a great way to get to know your neighbors and to take an active role in keeping our community safe.
