[ARCHIVED] Fire Hydrant Flow Testing July 6 – July 15

flow testing

The Burlington Water Utility, along with their consultant, M.E. Simpson Co., Inc., will be conducting flow testing of fire hydrants throughout certain areas of City. The testing will begin Wednesday, July 6, 2022, and continue through Friday, July 15, 2022. Hydrant flow testing will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please watch for the Orange Flow Testing signs that will inform you when your immediate area will be affected by the flow testing. This may cause a temporary discoloration of the water in your system. The water is safe for drinking, but may discolor clothes washed in it. City residents should check their water supply before engaging in any work that could be affected by the flow testing of hydrants and flush all taps in your home or business including your washing machine before using!

We regret any inconvenience these tests may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please call M. E. Simpson at 1-888-252-1521 or the Burlington Water Utility at 262-342-1173.
