The City of Burlington’s Emergency Declaration, issued by Mayor Jeannie Hefty on March 18, 2020, provides protection to the community and procedural flexibility for the City of Burlington’s governmental actions with respect to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
The Mayor of The City of Burlington, under the emergency powers granted to her pursuant to that Declaration, has authorized the City Administrator, Carina Walters, to execute and deliver the following governmental procedures for the temporary suspension of night parking:
Under the current ordinance Chapter 293-3E, Alternate Side Overnight Parking, is allowed between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. The City of Burlington will be temporarily suspending this ordinance to be in effect until the Governor’s Stay at Home order has been lifted or until the Common Council dictates sooner. With this order, residents will be able to park on either side of the street any night without violation until the order is lifted. Please note, if a Snow Emergency is issued, overnight parking will be enforced to allow for appropriate snow removal.
