The City of Burlington Police Department in partnership with Burlington Jaycees sponsor the annual Safety Town Program which Waller School hosts. This year’s safety town is scheduled for June 10- June 21. Print Safety Town Application

This annual program is held in June and is designed for children entering kindergarten in the Burlington or surrounding communities each fall. Children will be taught safety topics such as Stranger Danger, how to use the 9-1- 1 system, gun safety, poisons, bicycle safety, pedestrian safety, and fire safety to name a few.This program consists of morning and afternoon sessions for two weeks. 

Burlington’s safety town program has been a tradition for over thirty years. Enrollment includes a small fee to cover a shirt, training equipment, and the field trip to the Burlington Police and Burlington Fire Departments. The program concludes with a graduation ceremony and the issuance of certificates.The program has been a way for young children to learn about safety in a fun learning environment and build a positive relationship with the Burlington Police Department Officers.
